Here are a few questions and tips that we discussed by building up his 5-star presentation scheme. In this post, it's about focusing on key attendees and forgetting 80% of the crowd. Of course, this is somewhat provocative. Let me put you in the picture.
How do you filter the key participants? --By being prepared.
What to do? --Get access to the registration database. Know in advance who is coming. Send some personalized preparatory material. Give a few phone calls to set up short meetings. Simply get a few shake-hands before your keynote with the people who will count for you. Have your business cards handy. In short, warm them up. Basic business good practices.
→ Ask a few prompt questions, like these:
1. How interesting have you found the event up to now?
2. Why?
3. Are you familiar with...? (the subject of your presentation)
4. What are your expectations?
Of course you have to adapt these questions to the situation. But the essence of an effective presentation remains: preparation, contacts, networking. This applies also to smaller meetings. Your job is always to know precisely who the key people are. Focus on them. Analyze them. Get feedback. Make your presentation exciting and memorable. And get ready for the next steps.
