"Can we see that slide again?"

This question is regularly asked during or after a presentation. A participant might want to see a slide again; especially the presentation agenda, graphics or excel tables. The problem is that most of the time you cannot immediately go to that specific slide. So what do you do?

Switching to the PowerPoint Slide Sorter view is like starting a desktop striptease and letting everyone look at your possibly ill-organized desktop or personal open files. See the screenshot below. Sounds familiar? —Not the best idea.

→ What is the "best idea", then?

Here are two efficient tips:

1. Return to the agenda.

Going back to the agenda is easily managed by putting a tiny graphic at the bottom of each slide, hyperlinked to the agenda. Create it on one slide, and then copy/paste it on all the other slides. Of course, you have to remember the slide number you are viewing in order to return to it later. Please have your slides numbered in the footer!

2. Make a list.

Printing all your slide numbers on a piece of paper and keeping it handy is a must. Have (or want) to go back to a specific slide? Look at your slide list, then move your mouse cursor to the bottom left corner of your screen in Slide Show mode —that is without closing your presentation! Select the slide number on the toolbar. See PC and Mac examples below. Instant success!
